    The Mayor and six City Councilors are elected by the voters of Enterprise. The Mayor serves a 2 year term and the City Councilors each serve a 4 year term.

    Mayor Irving E. Nuss, Jr. was elected in November 2004 as Mayor with his term beginning January 2005 and has been re-elected since that time each election. Prior to that, Mayor Nuss was appointed to the Council October 11, 1993 and re-elected in that position until running for the position of Mayor. Mayor Nuss also served the city in earlier years being appointed to the City Council August 11, 1966 filling the vacancy of George Justice. Mayor Nuss was then elected as Mayor beginning January 1971 and re-elected through December of 1976. Mayor Nuss is currently retired but active in local civic groups and community projects. You can find Mayor Nuss quite often, weather permitting, riding his bicycle through the city being available to the citizens and checking out the city. Mayor Nuss serves on the Fire, Police, Public Works, and Executive Committees for the City.

    Councilor Margie Shaw was elected to Council Position No. 1 with her term beginning January 2003. Councilor Shaw was re-elected to that position since then, her current position expires December 2010. Councilor Shaw currently is a Realtor at Stage Stop Realty in Joseph and volunteers for many community projects. Councilor Shaw enjoys sewing and spending time with her grandchildren. Councilor Shaw currently serves on the Parks, Library and Motel Tax Committees for the City.

    Councilor Chuck Corak was appointed to Council Position No. 3 on June 11, 2007 filling the vacancy of Jean Grandi. Councilor Corak is a retired Enterprise High School teacher and football coach, although just recently looks like he is back to coaching. Councilor Corak is a dedicated sportsman. Councilor Corak currently serves on the Public Works, Capital Improvements, Executive and Motel Tax Committee’s.

    Councilor Doug Terry was elected to Council Position No. 4 beginning January of 2009. Councilor Terry has had a variety of his own businesses and is one of our local entrepreneurs. He is an experienced Glass Blower and enjoying his retirement. Councilor Terry currently serves on the Fire, Capital Improvement and Executive Committees.

    Councilor Larry Christman was appointed August 14, 2006 and elected in his second term beginning January 2009 to Council Position No. 5. Larry, in prior years had served on the city council beginning his elected term as City Councilor in January of 1979. Larry had to resign due to work in February of 1981 but was re-appointed in December of 1981 filling Shirley Guest’s vacancy through December of 1983. Larry was again re-appointed in April of 1985 replacing Councilor Tom Laeger and then appointed Mayor in May of 1986 replacing Mayor Arthur Vaughn. Larry was elected as Mayor beginning January 1987 through December of 1988. Larry was re-appointed as Mayor in April of 1989 filling Mayor Lester Wells vacancy and then elected in the same position beginning January 1991 through December 1992. Larry has served on the cities Budget Committee in past years as well as serving on many local committees. Larry retired from the Enterprise School District as Supt. and has since continued his passion in education working in the Pilot Rock and Elgin school districts as Supt. Councilor Christman currently serves on the Fire, Police, Public Works and Library committees.

    Councilor Stacey Karvoski was elected to Council Position No. 6 beginning January of 2009. Stacey had previously served on the Enterprise Planning Commission as well as the City Budget Committee. Stacey is employed at Wallowa Memorial Hospital as an RN. Stacey has previously served on the Joseph City Council and was the Director of Juvenile Services in previous years. Councilor Karvoski currently serves on the Parks, Library and Capital Improvement committees.
